Coming up - CCU's third coastal clean up

Since our last coastal clean up in June, approximately 112320 garbage trucks worth of plastic have been dumped in the ocean worldwide (see this report for more info). If you would like to fight this, join us in celebrating International Coastal Cleanup Day 2022 and come to the Green Team @ CCU's third local coastal clean up.

We will meet this Thursday 22nd September at 5pm at the main CCU entrance ready to walk from there to Alges Beach, collecting and recycling all kinds of litter that would otherwise likely end up in the Tejo. If you already have any gloves or litter pickers at home, please bring them. Basic litter picking equipment will be provided as well.

Please come and support what should be a fun and impactful event. Friends and family members from outside CCU are also welcome to join this initiative, so please spread the word. We will conclude the clean up by rewarding ourselves with margaritas and tacos at La Siesta Cocina Mexicana. Looking forward to seeing many of you, and making our local beach better for all beings.
